Yes, it is. We want to be able to create a beautiful piece of art for your home and it doesn’t matter if it is just a Signature 8x10 or a 24x30 Fine Art piece. In order to do that, a consultation is needed. We discuss clothing, In Studio Session or On Location Session, we get details about your family and ask if there are any special requests. We go over our pricing, so you know in advance what everything is priced at. How we approach a session if we know you want just a Wall Portrait or want an album of images or even both.

Solid Colors! They work best. The only thing that should “Date” a photograph is the age of the people in it. Clothes with patterns & designs will “Date” an image. You do not all have to match, just stay in the same color harmony range/ same tonal range. Wanna go dark colors? That’s fine, think jewel tones (emerald, navy, dark purple, maroon, and black). Light colors, think pastels (anything in the “Baby” Pink/Blue/Green/Yellow range or even white). Go BOLD with Candy Apple Red, Kelly Green, Sapphire Blue, TCU Purple. Just don’t mix & match color styles. That 1 person who wears a light blue shirt with everyone else wearing jewel tones will stick out in the portrait.

Inside can be here at our studio or we can come to your home (make sure it’s clean). Outside can be anywhere here in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. If it involves an “entrance fee”, you are responsible for that fee to get us all in. Inside at the studio, the focus is on your family. In your home, the focus is not just on your family but where you are. Outside session you will tend to be smaller in the overall image because you want to show off where you are. After all what is the point of an outside session if you don’t want to show it off?

Inside sessions can happen any time of day. Outside sessions only look best either 1^st thing in the morning (aka 1 hour after SunRISE) or 1.5 hours Before SunSET. If outdoor sessions are done in the middle of the day, we’ll be running for shade. The sun is just too harsh. It causes hard shadows and makes your eyes squint. Now if it’s a cloudy day, clouds are our friends & they create a softer light.

We believe in the power of a printed image. We control how it is printed and the finishing of the portrait (protective sprays,  mounting, and framing). Think of it as Quality Control and that we care how your finished image is presented to you and the world. But YES Digital Files are available for sale as individual files or the full session. If you choose to have them printed elsewhere, that is fine but will you get the same quality printed portrait you would get from us? Simple answer is no, you won’t. Ask us to see an example of the same image printed at Our Lab, Walgreens & CVS. All submitted to be printed at the same time. You will be shocked at the result.

We don't want your images to be lost to technological changes or printed by untrained employees who “only know how to press the print button on a machine”. Today's USB is tomorrow's floppy disk. Hard Drives fail. Files can become corrupted & unusable. We are passionate about creating portraits that will last for your family for generations.
